Attend Council Meetings
Council appreciates your interest in local government and has made it a priority to be accessible by providing opportunities for you to participate at Council meetings. Regular Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. When schedules change, as they do periodically, notice is given in the Tri-City News and on notice boards posted at City Hall. Council agenda coverpages are available for viewing on this website. You can also view Council meetings on Shaw Cable 4 on Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the week of the Council meeting.

Participate on a City Committee

Council annually appoints community members to participate on various City Committees. Contact the Committee Coordinator at 604-469-4603 if you are interested in participating on a Committee in the future.  Please view our committee terms of reference and the 2008 committee meeting schedule. To apply, please fill out our application form

Participate in Public Input Periods

Council meetings have two Public Input Periods for persons from the audience to comment or ask questions - 15 minutes at the beginning of the meeting and 15 minutes at the end will be devoted to public input on any matter within Council's jurisdiction. Each speaker will be limited to 2 minutes.

For your convenience, a projection device is available at the speaker's podium to project documents, plans and pictures onto the large screen to display to Council.

Attend Advertised Public Meetings and Workshops
Meetings, forums, open houses, workshops and other venues or events are held regularly. These meetings are open to the public and are normally advertised in the community newspaper and/or through other mediums (such as the City's Web Site).
