TransLink doubles funding allocation and approves Murray-Clarke Connector The city's campaign to explain the urgent need for the twice-delayed Murray Clarke Connector paid off. The campaign included a Council demonstration to expose what would happen if the project was delayed again .

Port Moody council stages traffic demonstration in support of Murray-Clarke Connector Port Moody council directed the closure of traffic lanes through the city Monday morning in order to draw attention to the long awaited and now threatened Murray-Clarke Connector.

Port Moody council fears TransLink will delay crucial transportation project Port Moody city council heard earlier this week that a report to TransLink, to be considered at its December 12 board meeting, suggests that perhaps a two-lane rather than four-lane Murray-Clarke Connector is sufficient, and even questions whether the connector is needed at all.

Port Moody businesses recognized with Spike awards Seven outstanding businesses were presented with Spike Business Awards at a gala held at Port Moody City Hall November 8. The fourth annual awards were presented as part of the annual business recognition event held since 2001.

Dr. Elaine Golds recipient of Freedom of the City award At this evening’s regular council meeting, Dr. Elaine Golds received the prestigious Freedom of the City award from mayor Joe Trasolini. The award recognizes Dr. Golds’ significant involvement in environmental related causes, societies and committees.

Alderside Road storm sewer upgrade A storm sewer in the 1200-block of Alderside Road will be upgraded over the next two months.

Section of Shoreline Trail Closed for Bridge Reparis Please be advised that the pedestrian path of the Shoreline Trail between Pigeon Cove and the connection behind Town Centre Park (including the boardwalk and bridges) will have a temporary reroute to the bike path.

Temporary boat launch closures The public boat launch at Rocky Point Park reopened Thursday May 17 following temporary closures due to paving and painting work. Resulting from the recommendations of the Boat Trailer Parking Working Group the launch and parking lot was realigned to improve traffic flow and create 27 waterfront boat trailer parking spots.
