North Shore Community Park - Field House Construction has begun in December 2004 for a 2,000 sq. ft. field house northeast of the new Heritage Woods Secondary School. This facility will include a concession, public washrooms and a caretaker's suite servicing the adjacent playing fields and track.

Rocky Point Park Redevelopment The Rocky Point Park redevelopment project is well underway. This project was made possible by a Federal/Provincial infrastructure grant for $2,000,000. The wading pool and the west pier upgrading are under construction already with other elements to follow.

Public Safety Building Work on the city's new public safety building began in October, 2004. The current building, completed in 1986, is not big enough for current police needs. The new building is being built with future growth in mind and has also involved other public safety partners.

CP Rail Pedestrian Overpass The City of Port Moody is currently constructing a pedestrian overpass crossing the CP Rail tracks just east of Buller Street. Currently, pedestrians must use road crossings at Moody Street or Ioco Road, both located almost a kilometre on either side of the new overpass. The overpass will allow pedestrians and cyclists in the growing residential areas better access to schools, commercial businesses, parks and transportation routes.

Queen Street Plaza This project was completed in December 2004. This plaza located between Spring and St. Johns Streets will provide a vibrant people-gathering location for Moody Centre residents. Decorative paving, street furniture and landscaping features will provide an ideal location for community events and gatherings.

Amphitheatre The new Civic Amphitheatre (located at the back of the Inlet Theatre) will provide a raised outdoor spectator area with seating capacity up to 215 people for summer events. The original design of the existing Inlet Theatre, with the back of stage opening to the greenspace at the rear of the Civic Centre, will now be complete with this tiered outdoor seating, landscaping and pathways.

The Boathouse Restaurant at Rocky Point Rocky Point Developments Inc, a corporation owned by Madison Pacific Ltd., and the City of Port Moody have entered a thirty-year lease for the development of a restaurant at Rocky Point Park. The restaurant will be operated by the Boathouse Restaurant, a corporation owned by The Spectra Group of Great Restaurants Inc.
