Bylaw Enforcement, is a division of the Planning and Development Services.

The Bylaw Division’s mandate is to gain voluntary compliance with Port Moody’s bylaws. . If voluntary compliance is not achieved, the appropriate enforcement measures are taken, up to and including legal action.

The Bylaw Division works in cooperation with the Port Moody Police, Port Moody Fire department, health agencies and property owners to develop plans, strategies, and initiatives in response to Council's  needs.

In Port Moody there are various bylaws that are enforced by the Bylaw Division.  Bylaws regulate things such as:

If you have an issue you wish Bylaws to investigate the following information is necessary before a officer can investigate your concern.

• The location of the problem
• A description of the problem
• Your name, phone number and address

All information is kept confidential unless it is required for court purposes.

Animal Control:  Port Moody has contracted with the City of Coquitlam for use of their pound facility, and emergency call-out services. If you are attacked by a dog or wish to report a dog at large call the bylaw line 604-469-4697, 7:00- 5:00 pm Monday through Sunday.

If you are bitten by a dog, or have contained a stray dog after regular bylaw services hours please call the Port Moody Police at 604-469-3456. They will determine whether to utilize Coquitlam emergency call-out services.
