Garbage and Recycling News
Participate in our survey - Recycling Your Food Scraps
Port Moody began its food recycling program last December and residents now need to put left over food scraps along with food-soiled paper right into their kitchen & yard waste carts. Now the City is teaming up with Metro Vancouver to measure just how much food is being recycled. Residents who are participating in the pilot can expect to see Metro Vancouver consultants examining the contents of garbage and kitchen & yard waste carts to see where they’re placing food scraps.
We will then use this information to adjust collection frequencies. Knowing what’s in people’s trash will help us to better educate Port Moody residents about food waste recycling. Help us to make our food recycling program even more effective by completing the following survey. Tell us how much you know about the City’s new food scraps recycling program and if you face any barriers when recycling your food scraps.
