Port Moody Official Community Plan Update

Public Hearing for Proposed New OCP
July 13, 2010 at 7pm
Council Chambers, 100 Newport Drive, Port Moody

On July 13, 2010, Port Moody City Council will meet and hold a Public Hearing to consider City of Port Moody Official Community Plan Bylaw, 2010, No. 2849 which includes a proposed new OCP for the City of Port Moody. 

The proposed new Official Community Plan (OCP) is the result of a series of public consultation events and Council meetings that have taken place since the OCP update process began in September 2006. 

Highlights of the proposed new Official Community Plan include:

  • New chapters on Energy and Air Emissions, Arts and Culture, Community Well Being, Community Infrastructure and Implementation and Monitoring
  • A new community target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and related policies to reduce energy consumption
  • The creation of a new Heritage Conservation Area for Moody Centre and related design guidelines 
  • Overall emphasis on sustainability – environmental, economic, social and cultural

All persons who believe their interest is affected by the proposed bylaw will be afforded an opportunity to be heard in person and/or by written submission.  Written submissions will be accepted up to the conclusion of the Public Hearing.  All persons wishing to make written submissions to Council prior to the Public Hearing should send their submissions to the City by email at clerks@cityofportmoody.com or by fax at 604-469-4550 not later than noon, Tuesday, July 13, 2010.  No representations may be received by Council on this bylaw after the close of the Public Hearing.

Bylaw No. 2849 and related information may be inspected at the Planning & Development Services Department, City Hall, 100 Newport Drive (at Ioco Road), Port Moody, B.C. Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 5 pm.
