Volunteering for Civic Committees

Port Moody Council wants applications from its residents interested in volunteering for various municipal committees. Opportunities are available beginning January, 2009 to serve or continue to serve on a range of advisory bodies: Most committees meet once a month on a weekday evening (note: the Board of Variance meets during the day). Care about Port Moody heritage? Passionate about the environment? Volunteer your time with any one of the following committees:

• Board of Variance
• Burrard Thermal Liaison Committee
• City / CP Rail Community Advisory Panel
• Fire Department Advisory Committee 
• Community Care Committee
• Economic, Tourism and Arts Development 
• Environmental Protection Committee
• Land Use Committee
• Library Board
• Traffic Safety Committee
• Joint Family Court and Youth Justice Committee
• Heritage Commission
• Parks and Recreation Commission 
• Port Moody Spirit of BC Committee
• Youth Focus Committee (12 - 19 yrs)

The application deadline is October 31, 2008.
