Council’s 2009 Strategic Plan identifies the Fire Hall as the single major City-funded capital project to which Council is committed for 2009-2014.
In order to address this need, Council has given direction to explore funding models for a new fire hall and to consult with the public regarding future land use in the Knowle Street/Civic Centre Area.
On January 27, 2010 a Fire Hall Town Hall meeting was held in the Inlet Theatre to identify and gather feedback from the public on potential development scenarios, private sector opportunities and funding models for the development of a new Fire Hall #1 and mixed use development in the Knowle Street/Civic Centre Area.
The presentation and display boards as well as the public input from this Town Hall Meeting are included here to provide background information on the condition of the existing Fire Hall #1 and on a number of different development options.
